Many executives get
caught up in the day to day grind, trying to address new challenges with
yesterday's band-aids. They are stuck in their existing paradigms. As
a result, problem solving becomes inflexible and lacks creative solutions,
decision making takes inappropriate shortcuts and doesn't explore all
of the possible options, overconfidence hides reality, and other common
errors are made. In effect, decisions are trapped in frameworks that don't
provide the optimal results.
Greaver and Associates
has provided consulting services to identify and evaluate the existing
problems, design the most effective ways of framing the decisions, and
implement that solution. For a listing of management reference materials,

Mergers, acquisitions
or divestitures (M/A/D) can have significant impact, positive or negative,
on an organization. They are complicated transactions with many, often
hidden, nuances, having far reaching implications. These transactions
require experienced professionals reviewing and evaluating them, from
start to finish. In fact, many of these transactions are started and due
diligence uncovers reasons they shouldn't be finished. Independent judgement
can be critical to these decisions and negotiations.
Greaver and Associates
has provided consulting services to identify and evaluate the M/A/D opportunities,
perform the appropriate due diligence, and provide post closing implementation
support. For a listing of management reference materials, click

Producers, distributors
and sellers are examining every link in their supply chains, in order
to build value and remain competitive in this highly competitive global

activities, functions and processes, rethinking logistics and distribution,
reducing cycle times, shifting from stock inventory to continuous process
flow, and using information technology to link each step in the value
chain.

Boards of Directors
have a fiduciary responsibility for providing oversight of management's
activities, for the shareholders' benefit. Accordingly, both management
and the Board have specific roles that sometimes become blurred, creating
friction between the parties. Effective corporations need sound teamwork
between the parties.
Greaver and Associates
has provided consulting services to identify and evaluate the existing
corporate governance issues, design the solution, and implement that solution.

To oversimplify a
very complex subject, successful change is unlikely without the following
elements present: 1) sufficient unhappiness with the current environment,
2) an enticing, attractive solution, 3) a probability of successfully
making the change, 4) the capital necessary to make the change. Understanding
how these elements are interrelated in a given situation is the starting
point to implementing effective change. These are different skill sets
than everyday management.
Greaver and Associates
has provided consulting services to identify and evaluate the existing
change management problems, design the solution, and implement that solution.

When executives need
to be replaced, there is a process for performing an executive search.
It involves three important first steps: an in-depth review of the position
specifications and current internal environment, setting the search parameters,
and, researching the targets and providing feedback on the external candidate
market. This assures that the appropriate target candidate market is identified.
Then recruiting begins, followed by screening, evaluation, interviews
and the offer.
Greaver and Associates
has provided consulting services to identify and evaluate the existing
executives and their potential replacements, design the executive search
solution, and implement that solution. For a listing of management reference

Prior to beginning
management initiative, it can be quite valuable to get all of the participants
to a common understanding level with training, for several reasons. First,
different adults learn new information in different ways, for example,
some learn by reading, listening, debating, observing, doing, and seeing
the big picture (through use of metaphors, case histories, etc.). If no
training is provided or training using only a few of these techniques
is used, then different individuals will advance at different paces, which
will slow or derail the project. Second, training seminars give the participants
a common learning experience and reference point.
